Fone Zone

If you walk around Mahindra Park long enough you will eventually find us at Rani Bagh 3307. It is a nice enough area but the parking is always a nightmare. We opened Fone Zone because it felt like a good spot for a phone shop. Most of the people who come in are from the neighborhood. They bring their phones in when the screen is cracked or if they can't get the battery to charge. We have a glass counter that we have to wipe down constantly because of the fingerprints. It gets a bit dusty being so close to the road but we try our best. I usually sit on the high stool near the window so I can see who is coming. We have a small radio that plays the news in the background. It isn't a huge operation. It is just me and sometimes a cousin who knows more about the software stuff. We spend a lot of time waiting for parts to arrive in the mail. When it rains, the water sometimes leaks near the front door so we keep a bucket handy. We don't have any big corporate plans or anything. We just like being the place where people can get their phones fixed without a lot of fuss. It is a quiet way to make a living and we get to hear all the local gossip from the customers who like to stay and chat for a bit.
