Our spot is at House No-1020, tucked into Gali No 9 in Govindpuri. If you know Kalkaji, you know how these lanes can get. It’s a small space where we handle travel stuff, mostly helping people get their tickets sorted or figuring out passport issues. The office is basically one main room with some maps on the wall that are starting to curl at the edges. We’ve got a couple of computers that have been with us through thick and thin, and the printer usually needs a good smack to start working in the morning. Being in Govindpuri means there’s always noise—kids playing in the gali, vendors shouting, and the general hum of Delhi-19. We don’t have a big fancy storefront with neon lights. It’s just a door with our name on it. Most of our visitors are people from the neighborhood who’ve known us for years. We sit here and look for the cheapest flights or try to explain why a visa is taking so long. It’s practical work. Sometimes we make tea for whoever drops in to chat about their upcoming trip to see family. It’s not always perfectly organized, and there are stacks of old itineraries everywhere, but we know where everything is. We just focus on getting people where they need to go without making things too complicated. There is always a pile of paperwork on the main desk, but we eventually get through it all.
