First Fitness

The gym is located at 434/113 F/F Veer Swarkar Block in Shakarpur. It gets pretty crowded in the mornings when everyone is trying to squeeze in a workout before they go to their jobs. We have some weights and some machines, and they’ve seen a lot of use over time. The floor is a bit worn in places but it’s a good spot to sweat. Being on the first floor means you hear the street noise from Shakarpur all day long. We don't have any of those fancy juice bars or plush towels like the expensive places. It’s mostly just local guys and some students from the neighborhood coming in to lift. Sometimes the music is too loud, or the fan makes a weird clicking sound, but we fix things as they break. It is a simple place where people just want to stay active. We keep the doors open and the lights on from early until quite late. If you’re looking for the fancy stuff, this probably isn’t it, but it gets the job done. We’ve been here in Veer Swarkar Block for a bit now and most of the regulars know each other by name. It feels more like a community hangout than a business sometimes. The weights are heavy and the air smells like hard work. We just keep things moving and make sure the equipment is ready for whoever walks through the door next. Sometimes the chalk gets everywhere and we have to sweep up twice.
