Finnair Cargo

Operating out of Mayur Vihar Phase 1, our little spot at 731, Pocket 5, is where the cargo side of things gets sorted. It’s not the airport, but the paperwork that moves the freight starts right here. We deal with a lot of logs for flights coming from or going to Europe. It’s mostly just us sitting around desks, checking weights and dimensions on paper before anything actually gets put on a plane. The office is simple and functional. We don't have fancy furniture, just what we need to get through the day's shipments. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook with people asking where their packages are, and we have to track them down through the system. It can get a bit stressful when a flight is delayed or if there's a problem with the customs forms. We’ve all learned to be patient with the process. The area around Pocket 5 is usually busy with people going about their lives, so we feel like a real part of the community here. We aren't flying the planes ourselves, but we make sure the belly of the aircraft is full and organized. It’s a lot of checking and re-checking. Most days are long, but we just take it one shipment at a time and try to keep everything moving through the system properly. It’s hard work, but we are used to the pace and the stacks of forms.
