Our little spot for Essence Retail Ventures Pvt. Ltd. is at House No.15 in Jiasarai. If you’ve ever been near the IIT Gate in Hauzkhas, you probably know how many people are always walking around there. It’s a very busy part of New Delhi. We are tucked into a side street, so it’s a bit quieter than the main road but not by much. Being a retail venture means we deal with a lot of different things coming in and out. The office isn't very large, so we have to be careful with where we stack the files and the boxes. Sometimes it feels like we are living in a maze of paperwork. The students from the university often walk past our door, and you can hear them talking about their exams or where they’re going for lunch. We usually just stick to our routine, checking orders and talking to suppliers on the phone. It’s one of those jobs where you realize how much happens behind the scenes of a shop. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but nobody really has the time to move all the furniture. We have a small kitchen area where the kettle is always running. It’s just a normal workplace with people trying to keep things organized in a city that never really stops moving. We've been here for a while now.
