If you walk into Era Cinemas over in Laxminagar, the first thing you’ll probably notice is the smell of the popcorn. It’s a bit of an older building at J & K 52, but it has its own charm. We spend a lot of time cleaning up after shows, picking up empty cups and wrappers from between the seats. The projector room can get pretty hot, and there's always a bit of stress when a new movie is about to start and we’re making sure everything is ready. We’re just a local crew here in Delhi-92. Most of us have been working here long enough to know exactly which seats are the most popular. We don't have fancy uniforms or anything, just our regular clothes. Sometimes the ticket machine jams, or the lobby gets really crowded on a Friday night, and we just have to move fast. It’s not like those giant malls; it’s a more local vibe. We like seeing the families come in and hearing the kids get excited. The walls have some old posters that have been there for years. We don't put on airs about being some big corporation. We’re just a cinema in the neighborhood where people come to watch a film and escape the heat for a couple of hours. It’s a lot of work, especially when the night show finishes late, but we like being part of the Laxminagar community.
