Era Cinemas, Era E Zone (I) Ltd.

We’ve been here at the Ard Complex in R K Puram for a while now. Sector-13 is a busy spot, and Era Cinemas is right in the middle of it all. Most days start pretty early when the cleaning crew comes in to sweep up the popcorn from the night before and get the projectors ready for the first show. It’s not a huge fancy place, but it does the job for the neighborhood. We see a lot of the same faces from around the area coming in for the afternoon shows to escape the heat. Sometimes the air conditioning is a bit cold, so people end up bringing sweaters even in the middle of the Delhi summer. The snack counter keeps us on our feet, especially during the big movie releases when everyone wants their samosas and cola at the exact same time during the break. We try to keep the ticket lines moving, though sometimes the machines act up and we have to do things the old-fashioned way. Living and working in New Delhi means dealing with the traffic and the constant noise, but once the lights go down in the theater, all that stuff just kind of fades away. Era E Zone (I) Ltd. is just our official name on the paperwork, but most people around here just know us as the local cinema. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in the city, just a spot where people can sit down for a couple of hours.
