If you find yourself on Hari Singh Nalwa Street in Karol Bagh, you’ll see how crowded the buildings are. Our place is at 43/1913, tucked away where the lanes get narrow. We deal with gaskets and all those small engine parts that most people don't think about until they break. The shop smells like rubber and old paper. We have thousands of different sizes and shapes filed away in wooden cabinets that we built ourselves a long time ago. It’s a bit of a maze inside. We spend most of the morning answering the phone and trying to find specific items for mechanics who are in a hurry. Karol Bagh is always busy, so there's a lot of shouting and horns honking right outside our window. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy. People mostly find us because they’ve been coming here for years or someone told them we might have the specific gasket they need for an old machine. The ceiling is low and the lights are a bit dim, but it works for us. We have a small stove in the back to make tea, and that’s where we sit when the rain gets too heavy to do much else. It’s a lot of looking through catalogs and measuring things with calipers. We just do the work, pack the orders, and wait for the couriers to come by in the evening.
