Eih Ltd ( East India Hotels - Oberoi Hotels)

Eih Ltd, which most people know as the group behind the Oberoi Hotels, has this office at C - 26 in Sector - 20, Noida. While the hotels themselves are very fancy and luxurious, this back office is where the actual grit of the business happens. We handle the numbers, the planning, and the corporate side of things here. It’s a lot of spreadsheets and meetings that go on for too long. The building is pretty standard for Noida. We have a lot of departments squeezed into this space, from accounting to human resources. It’s noisy with the sound of printers and people talking on phones. We don't have the luxury of the hotel lobbies here; there are no marble floors. It's just a place to work. We spend our days making sure the hotels have what they need to run smoothly. It involves a lot of back-and-forth communication. Sometimes the air conditioning is too cold, and we all have to wear sweaters even in summer. We’ve got a small canteen where we get lunch and talk about our weekends. The work is steady and repetitive. We don't write poetic things about hospitality in our emails; we just talk about budgets, staffing, and supplies. It’s an essential part of the machine, even if it’s not the glamorous part that guests see. Sector 20 is a busy area, and we fit right in with the other offices. We just keep our heads down and manage the administrative side of the hotel business.
