Ego Restaurant

We've been here at House No 20 Jullena Sarai for a while now. If you know New Friends Colony, you know the vibe around here can get pretty busy, especially in the evenings. Our place is just a regular spot where people come to eat when they're tired of cooking at home. The kitchen is usually noisy, and there's always someone moving chairs around or fixing a lightbulb that flickered out. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just us trying to get the orders right and making sure the floor is clean enough. Sometimes the delivery bikes pile up outside, and we have to go out and ask them to move so people can walk by. It’s not a fancy setup with a lot of decorations. Most of the stuff on the walls we put up ourselves over the years. We spend a lot of time talking to the vegetable guys who come by in the mornings. Dealing with the Delhi heat in the summer is a struggle, but we keep the fans going. It’s a lot of work running a kitchen in this part of town. People from the offices nearby drop in for lunch, and then it’s the families in the evening. We just keep doing what we do every day, hoping the stove stays lit and the customers leave full. There’s always a list of things to fix, like a leaky tap or a menu that needs reprinting because someone spilled tea on it. We just try to keep things moving along.
