Eastern International Limited

Munirka is always packed with people and cars. Our office is in Prateek Ket, 60-A. We are in Flat No-15. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road through some narrow lanes. The stairs in the building are a bit dark. When you get to Flat 15, it’s just a regular flat that we have turned into an office for Eastern International Limited. We have some heavy wooden desks that have been here for many years. The curtains are a bit faded from the sun. We keep the files in big metal almirahs that make a loud creaking sound when you open them. It’s a very practical and simple setup. No decorations or fancy art on the walls. We have a small sink in the corner for washing our lunch tins. The view from the window is just another building's wall across the alley. It’s surprisingly quiet inside compared to all the noise from the market outside. We work through the day, mostly doing paperwork and typing things on the computers. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit and talk for a bit until it comes back. We don't have a big generator, just a small inverter for the fans. It’s an old-school way of working, I suppose. People come in to drop off documents and stay for a quick cup of chai. It’s a simple, honest life here in Munirka.
