You can find us at 1213 Sangatrashan in Pahar Ganj, which is one of the most hectic parts of New Delhi. If you’ve ever been here, you know the narrow alleys are filled with backpackers, street food stalls, and cows wandering around. Our office is right in the middle of all that noise. We handle travel and tours, so we spend the day booking train tickets, arranging car rentals, and trying to explain bus schedules to travelers from all over the world. The office is small and usually smells like the incense someone lit in the morning. We have posters of different mountains and beaches on the walls, but they’re a bit faded now. People walk in off the street with their heavy bags, looking for a way to get to Agra or Jaipur. We do our best to find them a seat on a train, even when everything seems full. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to do things by hand for a bit. It’s a lot of talking and writing down names and passport numbers. We have a small bench for people to sit on while we check the computer. It’s not a quiet place to work, but it’s never boring. We see all kinds of people every day and hear stories about where they’re going. It’s just a regular travel shop doing what it can to help people move around India from this busy corner of Pahar Ganj.
