Dominos Pizza is what it says on the sign. This specific location has that long number 9223372036854775807 attached to it in the system, which is a bit strange, but we just focus on the dough and the ovens. The kitchen is always a bit hot and smells like baking bread and tomato sauce. We spend our shifts stretching out the dough and making sure the toppings are spread out okay. It gets really chaotic on Friday nights when everyone wants a meal at the same time. You’ll see the delivery bikes zooming in and out of the lot constantly. There’s usually flour on someone’s apron and the sound of the timer going off every few minutes. We don’t have much time for sitting around. The floor gets a bit slippery from the flour, so we’re always sweeping. It’s a loud place, with people shouting out orders and the phone ringing in the background. We aren't doing anything fancy here, just making food and getting it into boxes as fast as we can. Some days are better than others, especially when the weather is nice and things run smoothly. When the rush starts, it’s all hands on deck until the last order is out. It’s a lot of work, but it keeps us busy and the day goes by fast. We keep our heads down and just keep moving until the ovens are finally turned off at night. We’re just a regular bunch of people trying to get the pizzas out on time.
