Domestic Call Centre, Finedge, Nehru Place

Our setup is in the C.R.R.I Flats over in Maharanibagh. It is a bit of an unusual spot for an office since it is a residential area, but it works for us. We handle calls throughout the day. You can always hear a low hum of voices in the background when you walk in. We have rows of desks and headsets everywhere. It is a lot of talking and typing at the same time. The staff here are mostly local folks who know the city well. We do not have a big corporate cafeteria or anything like that. We just eat our lunch at the desks or go out to a local stall. The Nehru Place connection is there, but this specific spot in New Delhi is where we spend our hours. Sometimes the lines are busy and people have to wait, which can be frustrating, but we do what we can. It is a lot of repetitive work, answering the same questions over and over. But we have got a rhythm down. The building itself is pretty standard, nothing special to look at. We keep the lights on late because the work does not always stop at five. We are not trying to change the world. We are just here to answer the phones and process whatever comes through the system. It is a plain, honest way to earn a living in the city. There are usually files stacked up on the corners of the desks.
