You can find us at L-1/63A in the D.D.A. Flats in Kalkaji, New Delhi. This is the administrative side of Dlf Emporio Restaurants Ltd. While the restaurants themselves are out in the fancy malls, this office in Kalkaji is where a lot of the behind-the-scenes work happens. It’s a standard D.D.A. flat that we use for managing the accounts, hiring, and all the boring stuff that keeps a restaurant business running. It’s a lived-in space with old desks and a lot of paper stacks everywhere. Kalkaji is a crowded part of Delhi, and our office is right in the middle of it. We hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day, from the street vendors to the traffic on the main road. The team here is pretty small, and we mostly just focus on our spreadsheets and phone calls. It’s a very different vibe from the high-end dining rooms we manage. Here, we drink tea in paper cups and use old fans when it gets hot. We’ve been in this 110 019 area for quite a while now. It’s not glamorous, but it is where the real work gets done. Sometimes we have meetings in the small front room, but mostly it's just us typing away. We are just local people working in the food industry, making sure everything is organized for the kitchens and the servers elsewhere.
