Our office for Direct Logistics India Pvt. Ltd. is located at 17/B Guru Nanak Pura in Laxmi Nagar. If you know the Delhi-92 area, you know how crowded the streets can get with all the rickshaws and delivery bikes. We are tucked away in one of those lanes. It is a practical space, nothing too fancy to look at from the outside. Inside, we have our computers and a couple of phones that never seem to stop ringing. There are always boxes stacked up near the entrance because things are moving in and out constantly. We have a small team here and we’ve all known each other for a long time. The lighting is a bit bright and the floor is tile that we try to keep clean despite everyone walking in from the dusty street. Laxmi Nagar is full of life and there is always some noise coming from the market nearby. We usually have lunch together at our desks while talking about what needs to be shipped next. There’s no big corporate vibe here. We just focus on the logistics part of the job and try to keep track of all the addresses. Sometimes the internet is slow and we have to restart the router, which is annoying but we deal with it. It’s just a normal workplace where we get our hands dirty and stay late when the shipments are heavy. We have a small water cooler in the corner that leaks a little bit.
