Digitech Electronics is located right here in Pitampura Sector 15, at C 10/28. It is not one of those big, shiny showrooms you see in the malls. Mostly, it is just a small room filled with boxes of spare parts, tangled wires, and old television sets waiting to be fixed. I spend almost my entire day sitting at a small wooden desk with a soldering iron and a magnifying glass. People bring in all kinds of stuff, from broken LED screens to remote controls that just stopped working one day. Sometimes I can find the problem and fix it in ten minutes, but other times I am sitting there for hours trying to figure out why a circuit board is acting up. The shop is pretty crowded, so customers usually have to stand near the door while I look at their electronics. I do not have a secretary or anyone to answer the phones, so if I am in the middle of a tricky repair, I might not hear the bell. Most of the people in this block know me by now, so they just leave their items and come back in a couple of days. I have lived in Pitampura for a long time, so I know a lot of the families around here. It is quiet, steady work, which is fine by me. I do not sell the newest gadgets; I just try to make sure the ones people already own don't end up in the trash.
