Delhi Tourism &Transportation Development Corp(Government)

Working out of B 10 Gidwani Road is always interesting because there is never a quiet day. This is a government office, so you can imagine the amount of files and registers we have stacked up on the desks. We handle tourism and transportation stuff for Delhi. People come in with all sorts of questions about bus routes or where to go for a weekend trip. The fans overhead hum all day long while we sort through paperwork. It isn't always fast, but we try to get through the stack. Sometimes the computers are slow, or someone is out on a site visit to check on a new project. Being part of the DTTDC means we see a lot of the city's movement. You hear the noise from the road outside while you're trying to explain a map to a traveler. The building itself has seen better days, maybe a fresh coat of paint wouldn't hurt, but it’s where we do the work. We deal with the logistics of moving people around this massive city, which is a headache sometimes. There’s a lot of coffee and tea involved in getting through the afternoons. We aren't here to put on a show; we just manage the travel side of things for the government. It’s about making sure the buses run and the sights stay open for whoever wants to see them. There are stamps to be pressed and forms to be signed.
