We are based over in Shakarpur, specifically at U-34 in Krishna Gali. If you know New Delhi, you know these streets can be narrow and crowded. Our office is right in the middle of it all. We deal with the roads between Delhi and Assam, which is a long way for any truck to go. There is always a lot of talk about routes, fuel prices, and weather conditions in the northeast. We have ledgers everywhere because we still like to keep track of things on paper sometimes. Drivers come in and out at all hours with stories about the highway or news from the various checkpoints. It’s a dusty kind of job and the office usually smells a bit like diesel and old paper. We don't have any polished furniture or fancy rugs. The chairs are mismatched and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint. We spend a lot of time on the phone making sure the cargo is moving like it should. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes things get delayed because of a breakdown or a blocked road. We just handle it as it comes. It isn’t a glamorous business by any means but it’s how goods get from one side of the country to the other. We’ve been in this spot for a long time and we know the neighborhood well. It’s just us doing the daily grind.
