Defence Ministry

We are based at House Number 211 in Valmiki Basti, New Delhi 110061. Even though the name is Defence Ministry, our setup here in the Basti is very humble. It’s a local neighborhood where everyone knows everyone else. House No. 211 is a small place. We don't have any soldiers or big gates. It’s just an office where we keep our records and do some admin tasks. Valmiki Basti is an old part of the city and it has a lot of history. The streets are narrow and you can always hear the sound of the city around you. We have been here for a long time. The office itself is just a few rooms with some old furniture and a lot of files. We don't have a lot of modern equipment. Most of our work is done on paper or on a couple of old computers. It’s not the kind of place you see on the news. It’s just a quiet spot in 110061 where we get things done. We come in early and stay until the work is finished. There isn't anything fancy about it. We are just people doing a job in Valmiki Basti. If you come looking for H.No. 211, you will see it’s just a normal house on a normal street. We like being part of the local community here. It’s a real, lived-in place that serves its purpose for us without needing any extra bells or whistles.
