Dabas Restaurant

Dabas Restaurant is our little spot here in the North School Block. We are at Us 41, which is a bit of a mix between the New Delhi and Haryana borders, right in the 110092 area. It is a local place where we serve up food every single day. The kitchen is always hot and there is usually a bit of smoke in the air from the stove when we are busy. We do not have fancy menus or waiters wearing uniforms. It is just us and a few helpers getting the plates out to the tables. The tables are basic wood and the chairs have been around for many years. People come in for a quick bite to eat or to take something home in a plastic bag. We spend most of our time prepping vegetables or cleaning the counters. It is hard work, especially when the lunch rush starts and everyone wants their food at the same time. The School Block area is quite crowded, so there is always someone walking past the door or peeking in. We are not trying to win any big awards; we just want the food to taste like it is supposed to. Sometimes we run out of certain items by the evening, but that is just how it goes when you use fresh stuff. It is a simple life running a restaurant. We open the shutters early and close them late.
