Customer Care Executive

This little office is located at Mb-106 in Street No.3 over in Shakerpur. Being in East Delhi, it’s a pretty packed neighborhood and the streets are always full of people moving around. We work as customer care executives here. That basically means we spend most of our lives with a headset on or a phone pressed to our ear. It’s a lot of listening to people who have problems with their services or need something fixed. Some callers are frustrated and others are just confused. We try to talk them through whatever is going on. The room isn't very big. You can hear the traffic from the street outside even when the windows are shut tight. We have a couple of old desks and some chairs that aren't the most comfortable for an eight-hour shift. There’s a small fan in the corner that helps when it gets stuffy. We don’t have a big sign outside, so you have to look for the building number carefully. It’s just a place where we come to help folks get their issues sorted. Sometimes we have to wait for the system to load, so we chat about what we’re having for lunch. Most of the staff here live nearby, so we walk or take a rickshaw to work. It’s a straightforward job, nothing fancy about it, just helping people one call at a time in Shakerpur. It gets repetitive, but someone has to do it to keep things running.
