If you’ve ever been to Shahpur Jat, you know it’s a maze. We are at 118-B, right near the State Bank of India. Nagender Panwar is the name on some of our documents, but most of us just know it as the office near the bank. Shahpur Jat is full of designers and small shops, so it’s always busy outside. Our space inside is a bit cramped, honestly. Cox & Kings (India) Ltd. has been around for quite a long time, but this specific branch feels very local to New Delhi. We have desks pushed close together and the hum of the computers is always in the background. Sometimes the power goes out for a minute and we all just wait for the generator to kick in. It’s not like those big glass buildings in Gurgaon. Here, you step outside and you’re immediately in the middle of a narrow street with scooters buzzing past. We eat lunch at our desks mostly, or someone goes out to get snacks for the group. We deal with travel stuff all day, but our own lives are pretty tied to this neighborhood. The walls could use a new coat of paint, and the carpet is a bit worn near the entrance. It’s a practical place for practical work. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything. If you come in, you just see us working. It’s simple and honest, just a bunch of us trying to keep things moving every single day.
