Khan Market is one of those places that’s always packed, and our little spot at number 36 is right in the middle of all that action. We’re part of the Cosmic Kitchen group, and this Choko La outlet is where we spend most of our working hours. It’s not a huge space, so when it gets busy in the afternoons, it really feels crowded. The smell of chocolate and baked goods is always there in the air, which is probably the best part of working in this building. We see all kinds of people, from regulars who stop by every day for their fix to tourists who look a bit overwhelmed by the market noise. The building is old, like most of the structures in Khan Market, so we have to deal with the occasional leak or a temperamental air conditioner. We don't have a corporate office vibe here; it’s more like a busy kitchen where everyone is always moving around. We stock the shelves, help customers choose their treats, and try to keep everything tidy as we go. Sometimes we have to run across the street to get change or talk to one of the other shopkeepers about a delivery. It’s a very hands-on job for all of us. We don't use fancy scripts when talking to people; we just chat and help them find what they want. It gets loud and a bit chaotic on the weekends, but that’s just the nature of this market.
