Claridges

Claridges is located at S-22 in the Janta Market area of Rajouri Garden. Being in a market like Janta Market means there is never a dull moment. There is always someone shouting, a horn honking, or the smell of street food wafting in. Our shop is quite small and we have a lot of stuff packed into the shelves and corners. It’s not one of those wide-open showrooms. We’ve been at this New Delhi address for a long time, and the other shopkeepers around us are like old friends. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most of our customers are people who are already in the market or have been coming to us for years. The floor is a bit uneven and the lighting isn't the brightest, but it works for what we do. We spend the day helping people find what they need and keeping an eye on the inventory. It can get very crowded in here on the weekends when the market is full. We don't have a big corporate philosophy or a mission statement. We just open up in the morning, sweep the front, and start our day. It’s a simple way of doing business that relies on being helpful to whoever walks through the door. By the time we close up in the evening, we are usually pretty tired, but it’s a good kind of tired.
