Chopra Overseas

If you know Karol Bagh, you know how tight the streets are. Chopra Overseas is located right on Hari Singh Nalwa Street, number 28/1528. It’s a narrow building, and we use every inch of space we have for storage and desks. We’ve been here for years, dealing with all sorts of things that go across borders. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls, honestly. Sometimes the internet acts up and we’re just sitting there waiting to send an email. People think because of the name it’s a big corporate thing, but it’s really just a few of us in a small room. We spend a lot of time talking to customs people and checking shipping schedules. The street outside is always full of shoppers and vendors, so it gets pretty loud. We usually have the windows shut to keep the dust out. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Most of our work happens on the phone or through old files we keep in stacks. It’s a bit messy, to be honest. But we know where everything is. If a client comes over, we usually just pull up a stool and offer them some water. It’s how we’ve always done it. We’re just local people trying to handle the complicated stuff that comes with trading. It’s a long day every day, and we usually close up pretty late.
