Choki Dhani Hotel,Jaipur is actually located at Vpo-Salarpur in the Alwar district of Rajasthan. Even though the name mentions Jaipur, we are out here in the Salarpur area. It is a bit different from the city life. The air is a little different and the roads are quieter, though they can be quite dusty depending on the season. Our building is a simple one, sitting on the land out here. We don’t have those big neon signs or polished marble floors you see in city hotels. It’s much more basic and functional. Most people who come by are locals or travelers passing through the Alwar district. We spend our time making sure the rooms are okay and the place is kept up. It’s a lot of manual work. The sun gets really hot in the middle of the day, so things slow down a bit then. We don’t really do big marketing campaigns or have a fancy mission statement. We just try to keep the place running as best as we can. It’s a quiet life in Salarpur. We know the neighbors and the local shopkeepers. It’s a very practical way to live and work. If you’re looking for us, you’ll find us right there on the main road through the village, just doing the daily chores. We have been here for a good while and the locals know where to find us. It is not fancy, but it is home.
