China Bowl

China Bowl is tucked away on the fourth floor of House No 123 in Mohammadpur. We are pretty close to Bhikaji Cama Palace, which makes it easier for people to find the general area, though our specific street can be a little narrow. Being up on the fourth floor means we see a lot of the neighborhood rooftops. It’s a kitchen space where we spend most of our hours. We aren't a big restaurant with waiters and white tablecloths. It’s more of a local spot where we focus on the food we make. The stairs can be a bit of a workout but we don't mind. We've been in New Delhi 110066 for a while now. Some days are really busy with orders flying out, and other days it’s a bit quieter. We just keep the stove going and do our best. It started small and it’s still pretty small, which is fine by us. We know the regulars by their voices or their usual orders. It gets hot in the kitchen, especially in June, but that is part of the job. We don’t do much advertising. Mostly people hear about us from their neighbors or just happen to live nearby. We like being part of the Mohammadpur community. It’s a real place with real people and that’s where we belong. We keep our kitchen clean and our recipes simple because that's what works. It is a lot of work but we enjoy seeing people happy with their meals.
