Chander Communication

Chander Communication is located at Lodhi Road Meherchand Market 53. Meherchand has changed a lot over the years, becoming more upscale, but our little corner at number 53 stays pretty much the same. We have a simple setup. It’s just a basic room with a counter and some shelves for mobile accessories and sim packs. The lighting inside is a bit dim because one of the overhead tubes flickers, so we just leave it off most of the time. We see all kinds of people here. Some are tourists wandering over from the gardens and others are locals who have lived in the government quarters nearby for decades. We don't do anything special to get people in. They just see the sign and walk through the door. Usually, I’m the one behind the counter, though sometimes I have to step out for a bit and then I just pull the shutter halfway down. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We don't have any big corporate goals or anything like that. We just want to make sure the customers get what they need without a lot of talking. Sometimes we run out of change and have to go to the grocery store next door to break a big note. It’s those small things that fill up the day. We’ve been here long enough that the shop feels like a second home, even with the scuffed floors and the old wooden stool.
