Central Industrial Security Force

Working at the Central Industrial Security Force office here in the CGO Complex is quite a specific experience. We are located in Block 13, specifically the EDP Cell, which means a lot of our time is spent looking at computer screens and managing data. Lodhi Road is a pretty nice part of Delhi, even if the security checks to get into the building take some time every morning. It’s very quiet inside the office compared to the traffic outside. We have rows of desks and a lot of wires everywhere because of all the equipment. Sometimes the coffee machine breaks down, which is a real problem for the guys on the night shift. We handle the technical side of things for the force, making sure the records are kept straight. It’s not like the movies with action and all that; it’s mostly just making sure the systems don't crash and the files are updated properly. My desk has a small plant that I try to keep alive, but the office air is a bit dry. We all wear our uniforms and keep things professional, but we also share jokes during the lunch break to keep our spirits up. The building itself is an old government structure, so it has those high ceilings and heavy doors. It’s a solid job, and we take it seriously because of the nature of the work, but at the end of the day, we’re just people doing our tasks.
