Ceasefire Industry

Our office is a Janta Flat in Jasola Vihar. It’s B-544, Pocket-11. It’s a small place in New Delhi 25. We work in the fire safety industry, so we deal with extinguishers and alarms. Most of our day is spent out on the road visiting buildings to check their equipment. The flat is mostly used for storing some supplies and doing the paperwork. It’s not a big factory or a corporate office. It’s just where we coordinate everything. Jasola Vihar is a busy residential area, so parking can be a real pain when we come back with the van. We started this because there was a need for it in the local area. We don't have any fancy brochures. We just show people how the equipment works and make sure it’s up to code. It’s a bit cluttered in the office with all the red canisters around. We’ve been here for a few years now. We know most of the people in the neighboring flats. It’s a small operation, just a few of us. We don't have a secretary or anything. We just answer the phones ourselves. It’s practical work. We make sure things are safe, and then we go home. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living in the city.
