Cashier

If you are looking for us, we are at 1268, right by Sangth Ration Chowk. It is in Pahar Ganj, specifically in Ram Chandra Bagiche Wali Gali. You know how those lanes are in New Delhi-110055, very narrow and always crowded with people and scooters. The name of the place is just Cashier. It’s a small spot, cramped with stuff everywhere you look. There is barely enough room for two people to stand comfortably sometimes. Outside, the street is always loud with vendors shouting and the smell of food from the nearby stalls. We spend most of the day behind the counter. The walls are a bit dusty and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound that we’ve stopped noticing. It’s a very old part of the city, so the buildings are all squeezed together. Finding the place can be a bit of a headache if you aren't used to the gali system here. We don't have any fancy lights or big windows, just a heavy metal shutter we pull down at the end of the day. It’s hard work being in Pahar Ganj because it never really sleeps. There is always someone knocking or something moving outside. We just stay focused on the tasks at hand and keep things running as best as we can in this little corner of the market. It is what it is, just a local business in a busy street. The tea guy comes by every hour or so to drop off some hot chai.
