Business Development Manager

We are tucked away in Vil Dhago, which is a small spot near Badhera in the Nadaun area. Being here in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, means life moves a bit slower than in the big cities. I’ve been working as a business development manager from this location for quite a while now. It is not a corporate office with glass walls or fancy elevators. It’s just a simple room where I keep my files and take my calls. Some days are quite busy with people coming in from the nearby villages, while other days are just me catching up on paperwork. The internet can be a bit slow when the weather turns bad in the hills, but we manage. I spend a lot of time on the phone or walking down to the local market to meet folks. It’s more about personal connections here. We don’t have a big team or a human resources department. It’s just us handling things as they come. In the winter, it gets really cold, so we keep a small heater going and drink a lot of tea. The view of the mountains from the window is probably the best part of the job. We don’t do a lot of advertising because everyone around here already knows where to find us. It is just a practical, local operation. We try to help out where we can and keep the business side of things moving along for the community.
