Brook Software Systems is based out of Dehra village, which is in the Samalkha area of Panipat. We are not in one of those big technology parks in Gurgaon or Bangalore. Instead, we are surrounded by fields and regular village life. We set up the office here because many of us are from this district and we didn't want to move to the big city. The office is a simple building we converted to hold our servers and workstations. It is usually quiet here, except for the occasional tractor passing by on the road outside. We do all our software development and system testing right from these desks. Sometimes we have issues with the power, especially during the monsoon season, but we have a generator to keep the servers from shutting down. We don't have a fancy coffee machine or a lounge area. We just have a small kitchen where we make tea a few times a day. Most of the staff comes in on bikes or walks from their houses nearby. It is a different way to run a software company, but it works for us. We don't have any big corporate meetings or anything. We just sit down, do our coding, and talk to our clients over the internet. It is a peaceful place to work and we have been here for several years now. We just keep things moving along at our own pace without much trouble.
