British Airways has an office here at 7 12 West Patel Nagar in New Delhi. It’s quite a distance from the actual airport, so we don't see any planes from our windows. Mostly, it’s just a lot of phones ringing and people typing away at their keyboards. Working for a big name like this doesn't feel very different from any other office job when you're tucked away in Patel Nagar. We deal with the logistics and the customer side of things. The building we are in is right in the middle of a residential and commercial mix, so there are always people walking by and cars honking outside. Our office isn't very large, and it gets a bit cramped when we have all the files out on the tables. We usually bring our lunch from home and eat at our desks while we talk about the news or the weather. There’s no corporate script for how we talk to each other; we just say what’s on our minds. Sometimes the internet is slow, which makes things a bit difficult, but we manage to get through it. We aren't the ones flying the planes, we're just the people making sure the back-end stuff stays on track. It’s a steady routine of paperwork and coordination that keeps us busy throughout the week. We’re just a small part of a much bigger machine. It doesn't take much to see how everything connects. We just keep at it.
