Book My Ticket is over at 23/343 in New Moti Nagar, right near Karam Pura. It’s a busy little corner of the city. We spend most of our time staring at flight screens or train charts. It can be a bit mind-numbing after a few hours, but we have to get the details right. One wrong letter in a name can cause a lot of trouble at the station. We’ve been here for several years now. The office is nothing to look at, just some chairs and a few computers that have seen better days. People come in to pay their bills or ask about a way to get to another city that doesn't cost too much. We don't use any fancy language or try to sell people things they don't need. If the bus is better than the train for a certain route, we just say so. It’s a practical business. We deal with a lot of paperwork, which can get messy if we aren't careful. We know a lot of the people around Karam Pura because they’ve been coming to us for a long time. Sometimes we just chat about the weather or the local news while the tickets are printing. It’s a slow printer, so there’s usually time for a short conversation. We just keep our heads down and do the work, making sure people get their tickets and can go where they need to. It’s a lot of sitting, but it’s what we do.
