Binza Telecom

Down in the old part of the city near Jama Masjid, you’ll find Binza Telecom on the Main Road in Chooriwalan. This area is incredibly old and the streets are very narrow, so it’s always a bit of an adventure just getting to the shop. We are right in the middle of all the action, with food stalls and other shops packed in on every side. We mostly do mobile recharges and sell small accessories like chargers and earphones. Because we are on the main road, we get a lot of people just passing through who need something quickly. The shop is small and we have to stack things high to make everything fit. It gets very hot in the afternoons, especially with the sun hitting the front of the building, but we have a small cooler that helps a bit. We’ve been here for years and have seen the neighborhood change quite a lot, though the spirit of the place stays the same. People come in to chat and stay for a while, even if they don't buy anything. We know most of the families who live in the lanes behind Chooriwalan. It’s a busy life, and there’s never a dull moment with the crowds and the smells of the market all around us. We just try to keep things running smoothly and help out anyone who comes through the door with a phone problem or a question about their balance. Sometimes we have to close early if there is a big festival happening nearby because the streets get too crowded for anyone to walk.
