We are located in the heart of Sadar Bazar, in the New Market area at shop number 41323. If you’ve ever been to Sadar Bazar, you know how crowded it gets. It’s a sea of people from morning till night. Our shop is quite small, but we’ve managed to fit a lot into it. We spend the day talking to people about phones and chargers and all the little accessories that go with them. It’s a lot of talking. Sometimes I lose my voice by the end of the week. The shelves are packed with boxes, and I know exactly where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to anyone else. We have a small stool behind the counter, but I hardly ever get to sit on it. The noise from the market is constant—people shouting, bells ringing, and the sound of trolleys being pushed over the uneven ground. We get our lunch from a small place nearby that brings it in tiffin carriers. Usually, we eat while standing up because there’s no room to sit. It’s a fast-paced environment and you have to be quick. When we finally close the shutter at the end of the day, the silence feels very strange. But then we go home, sleep, and come back to do it all over again the next day. Being at 41323 in the New Market is just our daily life. It is what we know.
