Benz Travels Pvt. Ltd. is based out of a flat in Shakarpur. It’s Wa-18, specifically Flat No. 3A. It’s not a big storefront on the main road, so you have to know where you’re going. We deal with travel arrangements, mostly cars and local trips for people in the Delhi-92 area. The office is small and usually has some papers piled up on the desks. We spend a lot of time on the phone with drivers and customers. Traffic in Shakarpur is always a headache, so a lot of our day is spent worrying about whether a car will get to a pickup on time. We’ve been in this building for some years now. The elevator works most of the time, but we usually just take the stairs. It’s just a few of us here. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. People mostly find us by word of mouth or seeing our sign. We keep a pot of tea going in the corner. Sometimes the phone rings non-stop and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the street noise from outside. We just try to get the bookings right so nobody gets left waiting. It's a regular job in a regular part of town. We like the area because everything you need is close by. It’s just us, some computers, and a lot of phone calls to make sure everything is running. We usually close up once the last car is confirmed for the night.
