Belgique Chocolatiers

Our shop Belgique Chocolatiers is located right over at 45-Sukharali. It’s not a very big place, but we spend most of our days here working with different kinds of chocolate. We started doing this because we just liked the idea of having a local spot where people could get something sweet without having to go too far. Sukharali is a busy area, and we see a lot of the same faces every week. We don't have a giant factory or anything like that. It’s just us in the back tempering chocolate and trying to get the shapes right. Sometimes it gets a bit warm in the summer, which isn't great for the chocolate, so we have to keep the cooling running all the time. The shelves are usually full of whatever we finished making that morning. We don't really do much fancy advertising or anything. People usually find us just by walking past or hearing about us from someone else in the neighborhood. It’s a simple setup with a few glass cases and the smell of cocoa that stays on your clothes all day. We spend a lot of time cleaning up spills and wrapping boxes. It’s hard work and your hands get messy, but it’s what we do here at number 45. We’ve been in this spot for a while now and know the rhythms of the street pretty well. It's just a normal business trying to make things people enjoy eating every day.
