Banjara Camps & Retreats

Banjara Camps & Retreats has a bit of an unusual setup with our background tied to places like Bangalore and The Assam Valley School. Our documents and history mention these different spots, from Arts & Commerce in Bangalore back in 2000 to schooling in Delhi. It sounds a bit confusing, but it just shows how much we have moved around before settling into our work. We mostly deal with organizing trips and outdoor stays. Our office space is filled with old maps, gear lists, and notes from various travels we have managed over the years. It is not a very tidy place because there is always something being packed or unpacked. We have a few desks that have seen better days and the walls are covered in photos of the places we have visited. We spend our time talking to people who want to get away from the city for a bit. It is a lot of logistics, like checking if the tents are clean or if the transport is ready. We don't have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from answering phones to checking the supply inventory. It can get a bit stressful when a big group is about to leave, but we usually figure it out. We aren't really corporate people; we just like being involved in travel and helping people see something besides the city streets for a change.
