We are located at number 20 in the Furniture Block of Kirti Nagar. This whole area is full of wood, sawdust, and trucks moving sofas around. Our shop is a bit of a break from all that heavy work. We’ve been in this spot for a long time, watching the buildings around us change while we stay mostly the same. Most of our customers are the guys who work in the furniture shops nearby or people who have spent the whole day looking for a new bed. They come in looking tired and hungry. We keep the stools ready and the food moving out of the kitchen as fast as we can. It’s a bit noisy because of the saws and hammers you can hear from the street. We don’t have fancy decorations on the walls. It’s just a practical place to get a meal. My sons and I handle most of the work ourselves, from buying the ingredients to making sure the dishes are washed. We have a rhythm that works for us. There is always a pot of tea brewing somewhere. We see a lot of the same delivery drivers every day, and they usually just want their usual order without even looking at the menu. It’s a busy, dusty part of Delhi, and we’re just glad to have our corner of it where people can sit for a minute and eat. Nothing fancy happens here, just daily cooking.
