You’ll find Balamer Lawrie & Co. Ltd at House Number I/599 here in New Delhi. It’s a residential-looking area, but this is exactly where we do our business every day. We’ve been using this space for quite some time now. It’s a bit different than being in a high-rise office building downtown, but it suits what we do just fine. There’s a lot of paperwork and administrative stuff that goes on inside these walls. We handle logistics and various industrial things, even though it looks like just another house from the outside. The street out front can get a bit congested with parked cars and delivery bikes, but that’s just how it is in the 110034 area. Inside, we have our desks and filing cabinets tucked away in the different rooms. It’s a small group of us working here. We deal with vendors and clients over the phone and through email mostly. It’s a practical way to run things without the high overhead of a fancy downtown office. We know the neighbors around here and they know us. The daily routine is pretty standard. We get in, check the morning mail, and get to work on the orders and shipments. It’s a lot of coordinating between different people. Sometimes the power goes out, so we have to wait it out or use the backup generator. It’s just part of running a company in Delhi. We keep things moving as best as we can from our little corner of the neighborhood. It works for us.
