You can often hear the kids playing or the school bell ringing while we are sitting here working on insurance papers. Being on the third floor means there are a lot of stairs to climb every day, which keeps us moving. The office is usually filled with the sound of staplers and the hum of the air conditioner trying its best against the Delhi heat. We deal with a lot of life insurance forms and people coming in to ask about their policies or how to pay their premiums. It’s a busy spot because Zakir Nagar is always crowded and there is always something going on outside in the street. We have a few desks squeezed in and a lot of cabinets for all the folders we keep. It isn't a huge place, but it works for what we need to do. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator, but that's just how it is in Okhla. We spend most of our time explaining things to folks who walk in off the street or checking numbers on the computer.
