Our small office is at 93/1 in the J&K Block of Laxmi Nagar. If you know Delhi, you know Laxmi Nagar is always crowded and full of life. Awaaz India Media Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away in one of the many buildings here. It is a bit of a maze to find us the first time, but you get used to it. Inside, it is mostly computers and some recording equipment that we have gathered over the years. The walls are not soundproofed perfectly, so sometimes you can hear the bikes zooming by outside while we are trying to work. We are a small team and we do not really do the whole corporate suit-and-tie thing. Most of us just wear what is comfortable and focus on the stories and the media content we are putting together. The 110092 area is great because there is always cheap food nearby when we have to work late. We do not have a big sign or a fancy lobby. It is just a functional space where we can sit down and get the work done. The power goes out occasionally, which is typical for this part of town, so we keep some back-ups ready. We are not trying to change the world overnight; we are just a local media group trying to keep up with everything happening around us. It is a bit messy and loud, but it is our home.
