Out here at No.2 Ramnagar in Varanasi, things move at their own pace. We've got this little office where we handle aviation stuff, mostly just helping folks book their flights or figure out their travel plans for trips away from home. Varanasi is a busy city, but Ramnagar feels a bit different and a little slower. Our desk is usually covered in papers and printed schedules. It’s not some big airport office, just a room where we sit with a couple of computers and a printer that occasionally jams. People drop by after visiting the fort nearby or if they live in the 221008 zip code area. We spend a lot of time on the phone checking routes and prices for different airlines. Sometimes the power goes out and we just have to wait it out with some tea from the stall next door. It's mostly locals who come to us because they don't want to mess with the websites themselves on their phones. They trust a face they can see across the desk. We don't have fancy decorations, just a map on the wall and some old calendars. It’s a straightforward job that keeps us connected to the rest of the country. We talk to pilots sometimes or just the ground staff to make sure everything is on track for the tickets we sell. If you walk down the street, you’ll find us easily enough.
