Atrium Hotel, The Clariges

Our place is the Atrium Hotel, tucked away in Katwarai Sarai in South Delhi. It’s a busy part of town, but we try to keep things calm once you step inside. We aren't one of those massive, cold hotels where nobody knows your name. The staff here has been around for a long time, and we mostly just focus on making sure the rooms are clean and the food is decent. The building itself has some character, and we spend a lot of time keeping up with the maintenance because old buildings always need something fixed. Whether it’s a leaky tap or a lightbulb that’s gone out, we’re usually running around somewhere. Our lobby area is where most people hang out, and it gets a good bit of light during the day. We don't have a huge marketing team or anything like that. We just rely on people coming back because they liked their stay last time. South Delhi can be noisy, but we’ve done our best with the windows to keep it quiet for the guests. In the mornings, the kitchen is the busiest spot, with the smell of tea and breakfast filling the halls. We’re just a group of people trying to run a respectable hotel in a crowded city. It’s hard work, and the shifts can be long, but we’ve got a good rhythm going now. We take things one day at a time here.
