We are Associated Container Line, and our North India office is based right here in Dehradun. People are usually surprised to find a shipping company up here in the hills, away from the big ports, but we like it. The air is a bit better than down in the plains. Our office isn't anything special to look at. Just a regular room with some filing cabinets and a couple of maps pinned to the wall. We spend a lot of time on the phone, tracking where containers are and talking to drivers. It can get pretty loud when everyone is talking at once. Dehradun is a nice place to work, even if the roads get blocked when it rains heavy. We have been doing this for a long time now. We know most of the local businesses around here. Sometimes the internet goes slow and we just have to wait it out. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to write fancy things about us. We just handle the logistics and try to make sure things get to where they are going without too many problems. There’s a small tea shop around the corner where we usually go for breaks. It’s a simple life. We work hard, we go home, and we come back the next day to do it again. It works for us. We might get a bigger sign one day, but for now, the small one on the door is enough. Sometimes the monkeys on the roof make a lot of noise while we are on calls.
