Assist. Mgr.

I am at 606 D.D.A. Hig Flats. It’s in Pocket B, Sector 13. Dwarka is a big place, but this corner is where we stay most of the day. The building isn't brand new, and you can see that in the hallways. We've been here for a while now. The name Assist. Mgr. is on the door, but it's just a few of us inside handling things. Most mornings start with a lot of noise from the street below. We have a few desks and some old chairs that we probably should have replaced last year. People come by sometimes looking for help with their paperwork or just to ask questions. It’s a bit cramped when more than three people are in the main room. We keep the files in these metal cabinets that squeak every time you open them. The light from the window is okay in the morning, but by the afternoon, it gets really hot. We usually keep the curtains closed then. There’s a tea stall not far from the gate where we go when things get too quiet or too busy. It’s not fancy. It’s just where we do our work in New Delhi. Sometimes the lift works, and sometimes you have to walk up, which is a bit of a workout. We don't have a big sign outside, just the address. It works for us.
