Our office is over on Joshi Road in Karol Bagh, specifically at 23/747. If you’ve ever been to Karol Bagh, you know it is a maze of shops and offices. Asia Impex has been tucked away here for a while now. We handle imports and exports, which sounds a lot more glamorous than it actually is. Most of our day is spent staring at shipping documents and talking to customs agents on the phone. The office is filled with files and samples of things we've brought in over the years. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, and the building is old, but it has a certain character that we’ve grown used to. We don't really have a showroom because we deal more with the behind-the-scenes stuff. Usually, there is a lot of shouting from the street below and the smell of street food wafting up through the windows. We drink a lot of tea to stay awake during the long afternoons when we are waiting for emails from different time zones. It is a bit disorganized at times, with boxes sitting in the hallway, but we know where everything is. We are just a small team trying to make sense of all the rules and regulations of trade. It is a lot of paperwork and a lot of waiting around for shipments to arrive at the port, but we manage to get things moved eventually.
